Jr. Hope Squad Students celebrating Hope Week

Morgan Elementary Jr. Hope Squad helped host a fun Hope Week March 23-27th. Each day was filled with different meaningful activities to teach students that there is "Always Room for More." Hope Squad students created a video to a poem entitled "The Lucky Horseshoe." The idea is that we create a Friendship Horseshoe, which allows room for more people to join the group. A friendship circle is closed and can leave others out. On Monday, students were invited to participate in a Poetry competition, where they could turn in their poems for a fun treat in the office, and then some of the poems were chosen at random to be shared with the school during morning announcements throughout the week. Hope Squad students provided morning announcements with special songs to play in the morning, words of encouragement, and instructions for the activities for the day.

On Tuesday grades Kinder through 3rd were invited to participate in a treasure hunt during recess. If they found a golden horseshoe on the playground they turned it in for a treat in the office.

Wednesday students wore school colors to celebrate Hope Week, and we had Davis High School Hope Squad students come during last recess to play fun games with our students.

Thursday grades 4th - 6th were able to enjoy the treasure hunt for prizes. Hope Squad students read books about friendship to our Preschool - 4th grade classes.

Friday we ended the week with a fun Glow-in-the-dark hoedown party in the gym complete with black lights, glow sticks, cowboy/girl gear, and photo booth opportunities. Kids were able to dance to fun music, play with inflatable beach balls and pose for pictures while celebrating their new friendship "horseshoes."

Thanks to Mrs. Brewster, our school counselor and Mrs. Lyon, our Hope Squad advisors, and our Jr. Hope Squad students for putting on such a fun week of friendship, activities, and ways to serve others. It was a great week for us all!
